POSITION OVERVIEW
Position: General Account
Department: Finance
Work location: NDA Vietnam office – 225 Nguyen Xi, Binh Loi Trung Ward, Ho Chi Minh city
The Accountant is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial records of the company, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, financial reporting, and tax compliance, with a focus on supporting the financial health of the company. The General Accountant will work closely with the Chief Accountant and other departments to ensure accurate financial management and regulatory adherence.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Qualifications
Accounting & Financial Reporting:
- Record, review, and post journal entries for daily transactions.
- Reconcile accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger monthly..
- Reconcile accounts, including bank statements, receivables, and payables.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly and efficiently in the accounting system.
Tax & Compliance:
- Prepare and file tax reports, including VAT, CIT, PIT, and other statutory tax obligations.
- Ensure compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) where applicable.
- Work with external auditors and tax authorities during audits and inspections.
- Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and financial regulations to ensure compliance.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Verify supplier invoices and payment requests for accuracy.
- Track client invoices, collections, and issue payment reminders.
- Prepare monthly AP/AR aging reports.
- Assist in bank reconciliations and cash management.
Support & Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers and other departments to track financial progress on architectural projects.
- Support payroll processing and employee benefit calculations.
2. Specific duties
Level 1: 0-3 years
- Perform daily bookkeeping and journal entries for all financial transactions.
- Record invoices, receipts, payments, and expenses accurately into accounting software.
- Assist in bank reconciliations, petty cash tracking, and expense claims verification.
- Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and tax reports under supervision.
- Collect and organize accounting documents, ensure filing accuracy and completeness.
- Check supplier invoices and prepare payment requests.
- Support in data entry for project cost tracking (design, construction, or consultancy projects).
- Cooperate with HR for payroll data verification and employee expense reimbursement.
- Assist in preparing internal control and audit documentation.
- Follow instructions from the Chief Accountant and report progress regularly.
Level 2: 3-6 years
- Independently handle general ledger accounting and month-end closings.
- Prepare detailed financial reports and management analysis for review.
- Review work of junior accountants and verify accounting entries.
- Manage fixed asset register, depreciation, accruals, and prepayments.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT, PIT, and CIT declarations.
- Monitor AR/AP aging reports, follow up overdue balances, and ensure reconciliation.
- Conduct cost control and expense analysis by project or department.
- Support Chief Accountant in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Liaise with auditors and tax authorities during reviews or inspections.
- Ensure proper internal control implementation and documentation.
Level 3: 6+ years
- Take full ownership of accounting operations, reporting directly to the Chief Accountant or Finance Director.
- Supervise junior and mid-level accountants; allocate tasks and review their outputs.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all financial data before reporting.
- Prepare management reports and analysis for BOD and project leaders.
- Consolidate financial statements across multiple entities or project units.
- Lead budget preparation, cost control, and cash flow monitoring.
- Evaluate internal processes and recommend automation or efficiency improvements.
- Support external audits, tax reviews, and financial due diligence for major projects.
- Train accounting team members on new policies, ERP systems, and reporting standards.
- Act as the second-in-command to the Chief Accountant, ready to take on leadership responsibilities when needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of VAS, tax law, and compliance requirements.
- Detail-oriented, honest, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication in English (written/spoken) and Vietnamese
SKILLS & TOOLS
- Proficiency in accounting software (MISA, Bravo, 1C, etc.)
- Advanced Excel (PivotTable, formulas, macros)
- Familiar with ERP & financial reporting tools
- High ethical standards & confidentiality
